Where is the museum located?
The museum is located in Brookline, MA off of Newton Street.
What are the hours of the museum?
The Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m and closed on Mondays. We are closed on most major holidays. Please check the main page of our website for the most up-to-date information regarding hours and early closings.
Is there an admission cost?
Adults are $10, Military, Students, seniors and children 6-12 are $5 and children under 6 are free.
I am a frequent visitor of the museum. Am I eligible for a discount?
Yes! Please consider becoming a member. There are many benefits to becoming a member. You receive:
- Free admission to the Museum and the Museum-sponsored lawn event
- Discounts to lectures, movies, and other Museum events

Is photography allowed in the museum?
Personal, non-commercial photography without flash is permitted in the museum. The use of flash or attachments, and movie or video cameras is not permitted in the Museum without specific permission from museum staff.
Is there a place to check coats and bags in the Museum?
We have a coat room to the left of the main entrance. The coat room is not monitored so please do not leave valuables or keys in your pockets. The museum is not responsible for lost or stolen goods.
May I use my cell phone in the Museum?
Please be considerate when using a cell phone. Please enter a public area when making or answering a call. Please do not take a call in an exhibition area.
Is food allowed in the museum?
We have beverages available for sale in the store. If you would like to eat or drink in the museum please clean up after yourself and let the staff know if you need assistance.
Is alcohol allowed in the museum?
No. There is no alcohol allowed in the museum unless you are holding a private event and have a liquor permit and a detail from the town. Please contact our Event Manager for more details.
Can I buy tickets for the skating rink at the museum?
No. The skating rink is not affiliated with the museum and can be contacted at Jack Kirrane Ice Skating Rink at Larz Anderson Park.
Are there public restrooms and public phones in the museum?
No. The bathrooms are for museum patrons only. Public restrooms are located in the park. There are no public phones in the museum so please plan accordingly.
Is there parking available at the museum?
Yes. There are designated spaces in front of the museum and on top of the hill. Please do not park on grass.
Can I bring my dog inside the museum?
Only Guide Dogs and certified Companion Dogs are allowed; absolutely no other animals.
