1985 Alfa Romeo GTV6

1985 Alfa Romeo GTV6

In 1980, Alfa Romeo began offering their Alfetta platform with fastback coupe bodywork and a superb 2.5-liter SOHC V-6 engine. It was fitted with Bosch fuel injection that added significant reliability over previous carbureted cars and a prominent, aggressive-looking hood bulge was necessary to clear the air intake. Like so many Alfas, the GTV6 enjoyed an enviable motorsports heritage with titles in both the European Touring Car Championship and the British Touring Car Championship as well as some success in European rallies.

This 1985 example is finished in the appropriate red over black cloth interior and has had two owners from new. The second owner has kept it and used it sparingly for the last twenty of those years. It has been garage-kept, has never used in winter and has a clean Massachusetts title. Recent work on the car includes new Michelin tires, fuel pump, center shaft bearing, clutch assembly and other work documented in receipts from Accel Automotive and Alpha Omega Foreign Car Service. The car shows 79,000 miles, and had its engine replaced some time very early in its life. Overall it is in very good original condition for a thirty-year-old Italian car with strong paint, interior, engine bay and undercarriage. This would be an ideal car to drive and enjoy while fixing little things here and there. It runs and drives quite well, and the engine makes one of the best sounds this side of a supercar.
