An Evening with Denise McCluggage

Larz Anderson Auto Museum and MMR proudly kicked off the New England Audi Dealers 2012 Winter Lecture Series on Thursday, January 5th, 2012 with special guest Denise McCluggage. Thank you for joining us for an entertaining evening with the First Lady of American Motorsports.

Racing driver, journalist, author and photographer, and very good at all of them, Denise was a pioneer of equality for women in the U.S. in motorsports as well as in journalism. She founded Competition Press, now Autoweek, where her insightful commentary on the current racing scene and her informative analysis of new trends and new vehicles still make her a “must read”.

What a great evening with a lady who successfully raced Ferraris, Porsches, and many other sportcars. She competed against Moss and Fangio and won her class both at Sebring in a Ferrari and the Monte Carlo Rally in a Ford Falcon. Pretty impressive.

We are also raffled beautifully framed and signed image a Ferrari Transporter taken by Denise in 1958 in Modena. Winner TBA.

We wish to thank the New England Audi Dealers, Racemaker Press and the Jaguar Association of New England for making this evening possible.
