Situated just a brief ten-minute drive from downtown Boston within the enchanting 64-acre expanse of Larz Anderson Park, the Museum proudly hosts "America’s Oldest Car Collection." These historic automobiles constitute the Museum’s permanent collection, housed in the Carriage House—a masterpiece constructed in 1888 by Boston's city architect, Edmund M. Wheelwright, acclaimed for his contributions to notable structures such as the Boston Public Library.
The Larz Anderson Auto Museum offers an array of attractions, including cherished Lawn Events, community gatherings catering to families, and enlightening lectures on cars and local history. Our diverse offerings also feature engaging tours, providing comprehensive discussions on the automobile and its societal impact. Complementing the tours, we present educational programs spanning from kindergarten to high school, covering an array of topics from early transportation to automotive design.

OUR MISSON
The Larz Anderson Auto Museum is home to "America’s Oldest Car Collection". For more than eighty-five years the Larz Anderson Auto Museum has been supporting the community through a variety of educational programs, exhibits, and lectures.
Today the Museum's primary goal is its continued support of the community through educational outreach and the preservation of our permanent collection of early automobiles. The Larz Anderson Auto Museum hopes to serve as a resource for your automotive and cultural interests.
