ALONE TOGETHER AS ONE

Member Portrait Project
Documenting Car Culture in the Time of Coronavirus

Though we can’t welcome you inside the Larz Anderson Auto Museum just yet, we can certainly welcome you back to the Museum for this event we are calling Alone Together as One. So, come back to Larz Anderson Auto Museum to help us document this significant moment in time with drive-by portraits! We absolutely cannot do it without you – our members, supporters and friends. Please join us as we document car culture in New England.

In a recent Staying Connected While Staying In, our online member spotlight, supporter and friend Karl Leinsing said, “Get out and drive! Cars are our home, so stay at home.” We couldn’t agree more! So stay at home, in your car, and come home to Larz Anderson Auto Museum.

Alone Together as One is an opportunity for you to bring your car to the Museum for pictures in front of our beautiful carriage doors - a much sought after shot. Not only are the Carriage Doors an idyllic background, but they represent so much more. They open to a fabulous car collection, a place of learning, and a hub where like-minded individuals can discuss their love of the automobile.

On June 20th, polish the car and perhaps round up the kids for portraits in front of the Museum, just in time for Father’s Day. Each session will last approximately 15 minutes or less. Once completed, you will receive one digital print. More digital prints can be purchased directly through the photographer. Photos staged and shot by New England’s premiere automotive photographer, Josh Sweeney of Shoot for Details.

This is your opportunity to get your best shot. Feel free to dress in theme, bring the family, or have a photoshoot just for your sports car, collector car, or motorcycle. If you want your portrait taken but don’t have a car you’d like to feature, the Museum may be able to provide one for you!

To participate, please register for a 15 minute time slot. You must pre-register to attend. If time slots fill up on Saturday, we will try to offer more on another day.

Of course, appropriate social distancing and safety measures will be followed.

So what do you say? Come join us - show your car community spirit - participate in this momentous event.

We are all in this together.
