TOURS
T
he Larz Anderson Auto Museum offers fun and educational tours and programming for groups of all ages and is a great visit for corporate groups, senior groups, and large and small bus tours. Group tours of the Museum are available by reservation year-round, Tuesday through Friday, and can be scheduled between 10 am and 3 pm. The Museum offers an enjoyable and informative tour of the Museum with in depth discussions on the automobiles, the history of the unique Carriage House, and the Andersons, which can be catered to any group and their needs. Tours range from 45 minutes to an hour, and each one includes a guided tour of the current exhibit and permanent collection, and the history behind the Museum.
Please request your tour date at least 2 weeks in advance. A late fee of $25 will be applied if booking less than two weeks in advance. Minimum of 10 people per tour with a $100 tour minimum. Tour fees must be paid in full five business days prior to the tour via online invoice, check or credit card. Plan to arrive at the Museum 10 minutes prior to your reserved time to allow for check in. Please be aware that if your group arrives late, your tour may be shortened. Payment for tours is as follows:
$15 per Adult • $10 per Student or Senior
There is a $100 minimum per tour with a $40 booking fee.
SCHOOL TOURS
15-30 Minute Tours • 30 Minutes STEAM Activity
Put on your engineer’s brain and join us in person at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum for a fun filled tour and hands on STEAM activity. In these participatory tours, students in kindergarten through high school will be guided to make observations and personal connections to the Museum’s collection. During the hands-on STEAM activity students generate, conceptualize and develop their project from start to finish.
K - 2nd Grade • 45 Minutes
Cars: Shape, Line and ColorSTEAM Activity: Recycled Racer
Students will understand basic concepts of car design, looking at cars through the lens of color, line and shape in a brief 15-minute tour. Students then create their very own racing car out of recycled materials.
3rd - 8th Grade • 1 Hour
The Science of Cars
STEAM Activity: Rubber Band Powered Car
Students will learn about some of the basics behind the engineering science of cars in a 30-minute tour. After the tour students will build their own rubber band powered car.
10th-12th Grade • 1 Hour
How Cars and Bicycles Changed Our Society
STEAM Activity: City Planning and Efficient Roads
Students learn about the history behind the car and how they both impacted Boston neighborhoods and American society. Taking cue from Boston neighborhoods students plan and design a city with an efficient road system.

Cars, Wealth and Power
View the Museum’s collection through the lens of wealth, power and privilege. Learn about why cars have always been a symbol of power, and wealth and privilege. Then design your own dream car and put a price on it.
